This is a new conference where novel and sometimes challenging material will be presented. The conference aims to achieve conceptual change in diverse areas such as
- the meaning and management of pain
- the need to assess body awareness
- the importance of integrating new rehabilitation paradigms
- the ‘biologising’ of psychology
- the importance of the biology of stress
- the power of educational knowledge
- the realisation that current management programmes aimed entirely at tissue rehabilitation are failing and that modern approaches urgently need to embrace the brain and the immune system.
